AIG SME Cyber Hub

Cyber insurance for SMEs, explained.

It is not surprising that Cyber insurance involves a lot of technical jargon.  This can sometimes get in the way of understanding the insurance cover and the supporting services that come with it. On this page we offer some straightforward descriptions of our cyber loss control services for SMEs, some simple videos explaining the main covers we provide under CyberEdge policy and some plain English explanations of some commonly used cyber technical terms and some of the important things that businesses can do to protect themselves against cyber attacks.

CyberEdge for SMEs

Cyber loss control services

All CyberEdge customers paying over £900 are entitled to any of these complimentary services to help prevent and to reduce the impact of an attack.

A one-to-one discussion with an AIG cyber expert of the essential steps a client should take in the event of a cyber incident.  Understanding the critical response and reporting steps before an incident occurs enables a faster more efficient response in the face of an actual event.

A 30-minute one-to-one call with an AIG Cyber Risk Specialist who will introduce and explain each of the complimentary Cyber Loss Control services that the CyberEdge client is entitled to.

Cyber Claims Hotline: +44 (0)1273 730992

The hours straight after a cyber incident are vital and our CyberEdge Claims Hotline is available 24/7/365 for actual or suspected incidents. Our experienced Cyber Claims Team will liaise with you to implement your response plan, engage any necessary experts to identify immediate threats and start the recovery process.

All CyberEdge clients are entitled to use this hotline. There is no minimum policy premium required for this service.

CyberEdge clients have complementary access to a powerful platform to help during a cyber incident. E.g. it can upload key documents (such as insurance policies) when clients’ corporate networks may be compromised and provides direct access to AIG’s cyber claims and cyber risk advisory teams.

CyberEdge clients are entitled to an hour’s call with an AIG Cyber specialist. The specialist will discuss the client’s cyber exposures and security compared to companies of the same size and in similar industries. The specialist can also talk about cyber threats facing similar companies and prioritise cyber controls and practices for the client. This will all be followed up in a written report for the client.

CyberEdge clients receive an incident response plan template tailored to their business. It will detail cyber controls for the client to: make it more difficult for attackers to get into the client’s system; make it more difficult for attackers who have broken in to cause widespread damage to the system and finally to help the client recover as quickly as possible from an attack.

We will provide CyberEdge clients with a tailored ransomware risk assessment.  This will be based on the latest threat intelligence and will categorise and score the controls that the client has in place that may help prevent a ransomware event.
